SPEASMAKER Ned J. Speasmaker, 89, of London died Monday, January 25, 2016 in Madison Health. Born April 15, 1926 in London; he was the son of E. P. and Katharine (Beery) Speasmaker. A self-employed farmer and a partner with the former E.P. Speasmaker & Sons; he was a 1944 graduate of London High School and served in the US Navy during WWII. Ned was a 1950 graduate of Ohio Wesleyan University, a charter member of the London Kiwanis Club, a member of Beta Theta Pi Fraternity, a life member of American Legion Post #105, a former 30 member of the Madison County Republican Committee and was also a former London City Councilman. Survivors include his nephews Jerry Alcott, Jack Alcott, Chris Willard and Ted Whitson, nieces Nanette Willard, Judy Alcott, Debby Hempy and Sandy Lang; several great nieces and great nephews and very close friend Donald Cox. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Don and Cass B. (Ginny) Speasmaker; sisters Sallie Lee Willard, Mary Louise "Meezee" Alcott and Rosemary Whitson. Friends may call at the EBERLE-FISHER FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY, 103 N. Main St, London from 5-8 PM Thursday. A private graveside service will be held at Kirkwood Cemetery at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, friends may make memorial contributions to a favorite charity.
