MINOR Naomi Garnett (Jackson) Minor, 77, of London departed this life Saturday, June 22, 2013 in her residence. Born October 14, 1935 in Beaver, Ohio she was a daughter of Arthur and Anna (Walker) Jackson. Naomi joined Zion Baptist Church in Beaver, Ohio in 1989 and later moved her membership to St. Paul A.M.E. Church, London where she served as a Stewardess, Lay Member and Missionary Society within the church. She was also self-employed for 10 years as a child care provider. Naomi had a love for bowling and traveling with her family and friends. Survivors include her children Karen (Greg) Moxley, James Minor, Jr. both of London, Shawn (Mitchell) Bell and Phyllis (Kent Johnson) Lowery both of Springfield and Doveina (Charles Tyler) Artis of London; grandchildren Felicia (Tony) Minor of Galloway, Brandy (Ben) Minor, Chad (Jenny) Lett, Jeron Minor all of London, Brandon Jones, Brettney (Seath) Pittenger of Chillicothe, Brennan Bell, James A. Minor of London; step grandchildren Dwain Garrett, Jonathon Hickman and Jason Hickman of London, Allen Knerr of Sandusky and Amber Bell of Wooster; 25 great grandchildren; sister Erma Jackson of London; several nieces, nephews, cousins and good friends Joanna McNeal, Pauline McNeal and Mary Minor-Fowler all of London. She was preceded in death by her husband James Minor, Sr., daughter Norma Jean Minor, her parents, sisters Almeda Rider, Ester Anderson, Hattie Cooper and Mary L. Davis, brothers Wesley Jackson and Virgil Jackson, grandson Rodger Clerk, daughter in law Timberly Minor and good friend Paul Jackson. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Wednesday in St. Paul AME Church, London with Rev. Melvyn Huguely and Pastor Sandi Cunningham officiating. Interment will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery, London.
