Obituary

EARLES

With profound love and sadness, we announce the passing of Melody Sue (Fout) Earles, age 77.

Melody left this world peacefully at home on Tuesday, December 2, 2025, surrounded by her daughters and family after a long hard-fought battle with lung disease.

Known as the cornerstone of her family, Melody’s strength, wisdom and love defined generations that came before her and those that will follow. To those that knew her, Melody was not just a mother and grandmother, but the heart and soul of her family. With quiet grace she handled life’s most difficult moments with the strength and poise only a true matriarch could. No challenge was too big, no burden too heavy. She has shown us all what it means to be strong.

Born with a gentle spirit and steadfast work ethic, Melody spent many dedicated years working in quality control at Johnson Controls, Pepsi and Roxanne Labs. She took pride in what she did and worked hard to provide for her three girls. Never one to seek the spotlight, Melody was a true advocate for what was right. Always ready with a witty response or the hard truth whether or not you were ready to hear it.

Melody was a member of Crossroads Community Church in London where she found fellowship and an extended family. She was also a proud volunteer at Madison Health where she not only gave of her time, but made countless friends along the way.

Melody found joy in the simple pleasures that made her uniquely her. She loved wandering through thrift stores in search of hidden treasures, immersing herself in a good book and caring for animals of every kind. But nothing captured her heart quite like her beloved cats, who were her constant and cherished companions.

The family expresses their deepest and most sincere thanks to the staff at Madison Health for the exceptional, compassionate care Melody received. Their dedication, friendship and love brought comfort to her each time she was under their care and most definitely during her final days. The family also extends appreciation to the hospice nurses who brought her and the family comfort.

Left to cherish her memory include her three daughters: Rita (Drew)Youngberg, Debbie Earles, Brenda (Juan) McNeal; grandchildren: Natasha Gregory, Jamie Klontz, Brittany (Joey) Nesser, Kelsey (Jay) Firm, Cara Summers and James Seward, Jr.; great-grandchildren Torie Hoffman, Brelyn (Jonathan) Lumpkin, Landon Gregory, Grace Gregory, Garik Klontz, Melody Klontz, Braxton Seward and Presley Seward; great-great grandchildren: Parker Lumpkin and Sophia Jones; several nieces and nephews including a special cousin Cherie Fout Mouser and many four-legged fur babies.

Melody was preceded in death by her parents Wilbur Fout and Helena (Justice) Fout; brothers David Victor Fout and Wilbur “Waco” Fout.

Cremation will take place in accordance to Melody’s wishes. Public services will not be observed.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in Melody’s name may be sent to benefit the Madison Health Foundation, 210 N. Main Street, London, Ohio 43140.

The EBERLE-FISHER FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY, 103 North Main Street, London, Ohio 43140, is honored to be serving the Earles family during this difficult time. Condolences for the family are encouraged to be shared online at www.eberlefisherfuneralhome.com.
