Obituary

BIRMAN

Melissa (Overly) Birman, age 60, of London, passed away on Tuesday, August 25, 2026, in Norton Health and Rehab Center, following a long and courageous battle with cancer.

Born on May 4, 1966, in Franklin County, Ohio, Melissa was a daughter of Grant Nelson Overly and Mary Ann (Agler) Overly. Melissa spent many years working in several warehouses. Her strong work ethic and technical skills led her to a long career as a master database technician for Ashland Chemical.

She was a longtime proud member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles (F.O.E.) Women’s Auxiliary. She loved traveling across the country to visit different Eagles clubs and connect with fellow members.

Above all, she treasured every opportunity to travel with her family. Some of her happiest moments were spent outdoors with a fishing pole in hand, surrounded by the people she loved most.

Left to cherish her memory include her beloved husband of 31 years, Greg Birman; children: David, Staci, Amy, and Austin; grandchildren: T.J., Joshua, Landon, Autumn, Bella, and Zavier; brother Matt Overly; aunt Alice Forson; several nieces and nephews including Scottie, Shelly, Steven, Shane, Nicole, Tony.

Melissa was preceded in death by her parents Grant and Mary; brother Mike Overly; nephew Shawn Overly.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 5, 2026, from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM in the EBERLE-FISHER FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY, 103 North Main Street, London, Ohio 43140. Funeral services will begin at 1:00 PM followed by interment in Somerford Township Cemetery.
