OILER Melanie Olive (Miller) Oiler, 71, of London went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, April 23, 2013. Born July 5, 1941 in London; she was the daughter of Harry Jackson and Betty Ann (Baker) Miller. Mrs. Oiler had been a teacher's assistant for the Special Education Department of London City Schools from 1971-1994. She was also a member of the Community Free Will Baptist Church in West Jefferson, participated in a Bible Study Group and was very active and a leader in Blue Birds and Campfire Girls where she enriched the lives of young girls in the London area. She leaves her husband of 53 years Charles M. Oiler, daughter and son in law Kimmie and Herman Stanley, daughter and fiancée Beth Green and Q Martens; grandchildren Adam Crawford, Ronald Crawford, Shannon Crawford, Kaiela Stanley, Charles "Shelton" Stanley and Melanie Green; great grandchildren Kyree Minor, Keisha Crawford, Khalill Crawford, Kenyon Brown, Latise Hill, Nicodemus Crawford, Treazure Crawford, Thaddius Crawford, Maddox Crawford and Juliana Crawford; sister Stacie Miller, several brothers and sisters in law and numerous nieces and nephews; lifelong friend Verla Roberts and dear friend Bill (and his late wife, Patty) Duffy. She was preceded in death by her father Harry Jackson Miller, mother Betty Ann Miller Dillon, brother Harry Roland Miller, Sr., daughter Harrina Kaie (Oiler) Crawford; half sister Mazie Reece; sister in law Joan (Oiler) Glass, cousin Jan Ballard and father and mother in law Carl and Jemima Oiler, Sr. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Friday in the EBERLE-FISHER FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY, 103 N. Main Street, London, with Mr. Ed Banion and Reverend Jerry Newman officiating. Interment will follow in Kirkwood Cemetery, London. Friends may call at the funeral home from 4-8 PM Thursday.
