EMRICH Mary Agnes Emrich, 89, formerly of London died Monday, June 3, 2013 in the Georgetown Ohio Veteran's Home. Born August 23, 1923 in Midway, Ohio; she was a daughter of Cary and Stacy (Tinney) Tope. Mary proudly served her country as a US Army veteran of World War II and Korea, finally resigning her Captain's commission after Korea. Mary had been Treasurer for the Madison County Board of Education for 35 years, after having taught at the former South Solon School. A member of the Midway Presbyterian Church, where she had served on Session and been a Sunday School teacher; she also belonged to OES #386, London and the Beta Gamma Sigma Honor Society. She also started the Madison County Math Competition, was a former Girl Scout leader and a former member of the DAR. Survivors include her children Karen (Jim) Evans of Columbus, Paula (Ronnie) Mancini of Las Vegas, NV, John (Lisa) Emrich of London, Kim (Todd) Hunkins of Columbus and Chris (Lisa) Emrich of London; grandchildren Jeff, Susan, Gina, Christy, Jasmine and Jeziah; numerous great grandchildren; sisters Claribel Warner of London and Nell Capretta of Rochester, NY and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Arthur Emrich in 1999, sister Nyda McCauslin and brother John Tope. Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Friday in the EBERLE-FISHER FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY, 103 N. Main Street, London with Reverend Randy Terry officiating. Interment will follow in Range Township Cemetery, Sedalia. Friends may call at the funeral home from 4-7:30 PM Thursday, where Eastern Star services will be held at 7:15 PM.
