DOWLER

Marlin R. Dowler, 92, of London, died Friday, December 3, 2021, in the Bluebird Retirement Community, London.

Born October 9, 1929, in South Solon, Ohio, a son of Earnest and Bertha Viola (Smith) Dowler.

A US Marine veteran of the Korean War, Marlin retired as the fingerprinting Division Chief at BCI after 35 ½ years of service. A member of the Church of Christ in Christian Union (CCCU), where he had held numerous offices, he was also a life member of the Ohio Identification Officers Association, a member of the International Association for Identification and had served on the board of trustees for the Ohio Christian University.

Survivors include his wife Margaret (Strait) Dowler, daughter Carmen Michael of London; grandchildren Aaron Lee (Stormy) Arnold, Ryan S. Arnold, Dustin (Kathryn) Michael, Amanda K. Bagin, Natalie N. Bagin and Victoria A. Bagin; seven great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, step-children Chris (Linda) Sollars, Kip (Carrie) Sollars, Kimberly Sollars, Rex Sollars and Nicole Todd and several step-grandchildren including Brianna Todd, who was his caregiver through the hard times.

He was preceded in death by his parents, first wife Beulah Kathleen (Wheeler) Dowler, daughter Veronica Defir, brothers Lawrence and Elvin, sisters Florence Caroline Ellars and Francis Pauline Knisley and son in law Breck Michael.

Funeral services will be held at 11 AM, Wednesday, December 15, 2021, in the London CCCU, 180 West Center Street, London with Pastor Lee Stanley officiating. Interment will follow in Kirkwood Cemetery, London. Friends may call at the church from 2-4 and 6-8 PM Tuesday, December 14, 2021.

The family suggests memorials in Marlin's name be made to the church.
