KEYT LONG

Mark Keyt Long, age 79, passed away peacefully on Monday, July 27, 2026, in the Ohio State Wexner Medical Center.

Born on September 2, 1946, in London, Mark was a son of Helen (Lee) Keyt and stepfather, John Keyt. A man of many passions, Mark lived a full, vibrant life. In his youth, he attended St. John’s Lutheran Church, where the values of faith, community, and service were instilled in him early on.

Following high school, Mark proudly served his country in the United States Navy aboard the aircraft carrier, the USS Intrepid. His time at sea left an indelible mark on his life, fostering a lifelong pride in his military service and a lasting camaraderie with fellow sailors as an active member of the USS Intrepid Former Crewmembers Association.

Upon returning to civilian life, Mark spent many devoted years working as a heavy equipment operator for International Harvester in Springfield. Known for his skill and reliability, he was always proud of a hard day’s work and relished in the many friendships he built throughout his career.

Mark had a genuine enthusiasm for the things that brought people together. He was an avid fan of classic cars and loved nothing more than participating in local parades, watching the high-octane excitement of drag racing, or spending afternoons out on the water boating. A true sports enthusiast, he was also a loyal fan of the Cincinnati Reds.

Mark is survived by his beloved wife Debby (Pierce) Long; brother Kerry (Ginny) Keyt; niece Abby (Wesley) Whitehouse and nephews Andy (Heather) Keyt and John (Chantel) Keyt; cousins Sandy (Bob) Powers and Alan Toops; in-laws John (Marsha) Pierce, Sue (Robert) Hackett, and Ruth (Charles) Johnson; good friends Vernon and Sandy Isaacs.

He was preceded in death by his mother Helen and stepfather John, and cousin Michael Toops.

A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, August 4. 2026 beginning at 11AM in Deercreek Township Cemetery, 1255 U.S. 40 SE, London, OH 43140, with Deacon Dan Hann officiating.
