Obituary

DAMEWOOD Lora V. Damewood, 97, of Springfield died Saturday, June 18, 2016 in Oakwood Village. Born in Madison County, September 11, 1918; she was a daughter of Floyd and Virginia (Comer) McQuirt. She had worked as a seamstress for Wren's Department Stores, belonged to Nation Chapel United Methodist Church, as well as Daughters of America, Chester Council #323. Survivors include her sons William and James (Marcella) Damewood all of Catawba, 10 grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, sister Charlene Griffin of Marion, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Owen Damewood, sons Edward and Donald, daughters in law Julia and Anita and three grandchildren. A funeral service will be held at 12 Noon Saturday in Nation Chapel Church with Pastor Phil Rode officiating. Interment will follow in Vernon-Asbury Cemetery. Friends may call at the church from 11 AM until time of services Saturday. The family suggest memorials be made in Lora's name to Second Harvest Food Bank, 701 E. Columbia St, Springfield, OH 45503 or a charity of the donor's choice. The family is being served by the EBERLE-FISHER FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY, 103 n.
