BELL
Lora A. (Bombelyn)(Shediack) Bell, age 69, of London, formerly of Springfield, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 20, 2026, in London Health and Rehabilitation.
Born on July 29, 1957, in Ridgewood, New Jersey, Lora was the daughter of George Bombelyn and Ruth (Robinette). For nearly two decades, Lora proudly supported military personnel and their families in her civilian career for the United States Air Force until her retirement in 1997. Never one to stay idle, she then worked in retail where her bright smile and welcoming spirit shone brightest.
Music was one of her favorite pastimes. From her younger days dancing with friends to her lifelong love of singing along to Barry Manilow, ABBA, and the Bee Gees, she always kept a song in her heart.
Lora was a woman of faith with a joyful spirit, who spent many years attending St. Raphael Catholic Church in Springfield, where she always was happy to sing in the church choir. Her love for sacred music was always a constant light in her life.
A friendly soul who truly loved people, Lora brightened every day by listening to others and learning their stories. She found happiness in life’s simple pleasures – whether she was out shopping, decorating her home festively for every season or relaxing on her front porch to watch the birds.
Above all else, Lora adored her grandchildren. They were the center of her universe, her greatest joy, and the proudest accomplishments of her life. Whether sharing stories or simply holding them close, every moment spent together with her grandkids was a cherished gift, and nothing brought her bigger smiles than memories made at the Polar Bar where they would frequently visit for a treat.
Left to cherish her memory include her beloved husband, Dean Bell; son Patrick D. Shediack Jr. and daughter Christine Marie Shediack (David Hill), both of Springfield; grandchildren: Savannah, Rylee, Kirstain, and Ryder Shediack, Christopher Jr., Grace, and Faith Fulton; bonus grandchildren Abbie and Ayvan; great-grandson Kendrix Stroder; special friends: Cathy and Fred Jessop of Maryland, Bog Steg of Florida, and Joan Seviss Neithardt of California; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins; plus her little dog Ruthie, who was her world.
Lora was preceded in death by her father George and mother Ruth.
Cremation will take place in accordance with Lora’s wishes. Public services will not be observed.
Memorials in Lora’s name may be made to support the Alzheimer’s Association online at www.alz.org.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the EBERLE-FISHER FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY, 103 North Main Street, London, Ohio 43140, where condolences for the family may be shared online at www.eberlefisherfuneralhome.com.
