IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Linda Marie
(Barker) Geesling
February 23, 1950 – March 8, 2026
GEESLING
Linda Marie (Barker) Geesling, age 76, of London, passed away surrounded by family on Sunday, March 8, 2026, in the Bluebird Retirement Community.
Born on February 23, 1950, in Columbus, Linda was a daughter of Thomas L. Barker and Virginia (Jones) Barker. Linda married the love of her life, Robert “Bob” Geesling, the two of them wed in 1973 and devoted the next 45 years to one another. In the early years of her marriage, she dedicated herself wholeheartedly to life as a farm wife, helping care for the land while raising and nurturing her family. Those years reflected the values that would guide her throughout her life – hard work, love, and unwavering commitment to those around her.
Later, she began working as a secretary at Buckeye Propane where she dedicated her time and warm personality for many years. Service to others was an important part of her life. She volunteered for decades with the Newport Fire Department, giving countless hours to support her community and the firefighters who served it.
Her faith remained a guiding light throughout her life. She was a longtime member of the Newport Global Methodist Church, where she was actively involved in the United Methodist Women’s group. Through her church, she formed lasting friendships and continued her commitment to helping others.
She also demonstrated extraordinary strength and gratitude for life as the recipient of both a kidney and liver transplant. These gifts gave her additional years that she cherished deeply, and she lived them with appreciation, resilience, and grace.
Linda is survived by her son Rob (Cheron) Geesling, daughters Jenny (Erin) All and Julie (John) Balzer; grandchildren: Sammy, Katie, and Sydney All, Adi Balzer; sisters-in-law Jaynie Barker and Gloria Ramsey; nieces and nephews: Teri (Norm) Slick, Ted (Lisa) Ramsey, Susan Weed, Kristi (Ritchie) Evans; several great-nieces and great-nephews.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents; beloved husband Bob Geesling; brother Tommy Barker; sister-in-law Barbara Geesling and brother-in-law Larry Ramsey.
The family will receive friends for visitation on Thursday, March 12, 2026, from 4:00 – 7:00 PM in the Newport Global Methodist Church, 80 Center Street SE, London, Ohio 43140.
