CHENOWITH

Laura Kay Chenowith, age 60, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 7, 2026, in the Beechwood Home, Cincinnati.

Born May 26, 1966, in Dayton, Ohio, Laura was a daughter of Richard L. Kidder and Deanna Joy (Yerian) Barney. A longtime resident of London, Ohio, Laura later relocated to Cincinnati, where she continued to build a life defined by warmth, community, and service. She dedicated many years of her career to caring for others as a nurse’s aide with both Mount Carmel Home Health & Hospice and Hospice of Cincinnati. Laura’s compassion provided comfort to countless patients and families during their most vulnerable moments. Even when she faced a diagnosis of Multiple Sclerosis, Laura faced her own health challenges with remarkable resilience.

Outside of her life’s work, Laura found immense joy in simple pleasures. She was an avid reader who loved keeping up with the world through daily newspapers, relaxing with her favorite magazines or a good book. She was also a familiar face at her favorite Bingo night which always became a highly competitive evening. Above all else, Laura loved her family deeply.

Laura is survived by her daughter Marissa Chenowith (Charles Meyer); grandson Dominick Meyer; father Richard Kidder (Linda McCarty); brother Bryan Richard Kidder; niece and nephews Alanna Kidder, Jacob Kidder, and Zackary Kidder.

She was preceded in death by her son Jonathan Chenowith, mother Deanna Barney, and brother Denis Richard Kidder.

Cremation will take place in accordance with Laura’s wishes. Public services will not be observed.
