Obituary

Larry “Jack” Hatcher passed away at his home surrounded by his family that loved him more than he will ever understand, on Tuesday July 14, 2026.

Jack was born June 8, 1939, in Rosedale, Ohio. He served his country in the Army from 1957-1959.

He married his beloved wife Elizabeth Ann on July 5, 1957, 69 years together through it all, the good and the bad Jack and Ann’s love for each other was undeniable.

Jack is survived by his beloved wife Elizabeth Ann, his daughter Teri Kaufman, his grandchildren, Amy (Wesley) Frost, Eric (Buffy) Daniel, and Jake Degood.

He had 4 beautiful great grandchildren Madison, Ashlyn, Kennedy and Reagan and many nieces and nephews.

Anyone that knew Jack knew he was one of a kind, always there for his family no matter what. Never knew what was going to come out of his mouth, especially the older he got; he lived life to the fullest right to the end. Jack didn’t know a stranger; he loved to talk and reminisce about the past. He had stories for days and especially loved spending time talking with all the guys at the “liars' bench” every morning. He loved to watch Ohio State football and basketball, horse racing and especially going to Mechanicsburg football and basketball games.

He was more than a father, husband and grandpa. He was a hero to his grand kids; he was the glue to his family. After working many years at Scott’s Miracle Gro and Honda he took on a new career as “Babysitter” and he was the best babysitter you could ask for, now some of the things he taught his grandkids growing up might have been questionable, but we wouldn’t want it any other way. He was famous for never saying “No,” that’s for sure just ask Ann!

We want to give a very special thank you Madison County Sheriff Sergeant Travis Schenck and his family for everything they have done for Jack and Ann.

Also, a special thank you to Jason Meade and Paul Moore for making a special trip to the hospital to see Jack.

The family is having a Celebration of Life on July 25, 2026, at the Gathering at The Farm, 4690 Mechanicsburg-Sanford Road, Mechanicsburg, Ohio 43044 from 12-4 PM.

Jack will also receive military honors during his Celebration of Life.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the EBERLE-FISHER FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY, 103 North Main Street, London, Ohio 43140, where online condolences may be shared at www.eberlefisherfuneralhome.com.
