Memorial Gathering
Eberle Fisher Funeral Home and Crematory
2:00 - 4:00 pm (Eastern time)
With heavy hearts, we remember Kimberly Ann Skaggs-Garcia, who passed away on Saturday, December 20, 2025, in the James Cancer Hospital, at the age of 62. Her life was one of quiet devotion – to her work, her son and loved ones, and to the simple comforts that made life meaningful.
Born August 17, 1963, in Columbus, Kimberly was a daughter of Ben E. Skaggs and Ruth (Cantrell) Skaggs. For many years, she devoted her professional life to others serving in the human resources department at various healthcare facilities, where she worked tirelessly behind the scenes to support residents and staff. She believed deeply in dignity, community, and compassion, and those values guided her work every day. Her colleagues knew her as someone who listened carefully, advocated thoughtfully, and always sought to do what was right.
Outside her career, Kim found joy in the simple, meaningful moments of life. She loved cooking, finding comfort and creativity in preparing meals that reflected care and warmth. Her kitchen was a place of calm, where love was expressed through food and routine. When she wasn’t cooking she enjoyed tending to her garden and many houseplants which she loved caring for.
One of her greatest sources of companionship was her beloved cat, Willow. Their bond was a quiet but powerful one – filled with shared routines, gentle affection, and a sense of home. Willow was never far from her side, and their time together brought her daily comfort and happiness.
Kim will be remembered for her strong spirit, her dedication to helping others, and her ability to find joy in life’s small, tender moments. She leaves behind memories that will continue to comfort those who knew and loved her.
Kim leaves behind a legacy of love through her cherished son Ben Garcia; brother Danny Skaggs, sisters Brenda Dials and Sue Barker; several nieces and nephews; best friend Jeannette Alderman; and her beloved four-legged companion Willow.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother Arbie “Bo” Skaggs; and sister Linda Amburgey.
A heartfelt time of gathering will be held on Saturday, January 10th from 2 to 4PM in the EBERLE-FISHER FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY, 103 North Main Street, London, Ohio 43140. Private interment in Somerford Township Cemetery will be held at the convenience of the family.
Memorials in Kim’s name may be sent to benefit the James Cancer Hospital online at https://giveto.osu.edu/makeagift/support and selecting the “James Fund For Life.”
