Judy Elein Roethlisberger, 78, of Springfield, died Saturday, May 18, 2024, at home surrounded by her family.

Born April 25, 1946, in Columbus, she was a daughter of Richard Edwin Hively and Mary Georgian (Stumbo) Montrose.

Following high school, Judy went on to graduate from Frederick's Beauty Academy. She then spent her career working alongside her mother as a beautician in their family's salon. Her free time was spent enjoying solitaire and watching the show Heartland with her grandsons. Judy had quite the green thumb and was also meticulous about caring for her yard, particularly her flowers. She would tend any and all flowers, including her favorite red roses and butterfly bushes. Her family was truly her pride and joy, and she cherished all the time they were able to spend together, especially being able to watch her grandchildren and great-grandchildren grow.

Judy leaves behind sons Arthur Edward Brooks Jr., Richard James (Trina) Brooks, and Tim Hively; grandchildren Art E. Brooks III, Ethan Michael Brooks, Stephanie (Tyler) Sowards, Rick Brooks Jr.; great-grandchildren Graice Fay Brooks, Jordan Brooks, Aneissa Brooks, Arthur Edward Brooks IV, Luna Elein Kathryn Brooks, Lincoln Sowards, Chloe Brooks, Camden Brooks; brother Damon Snider, half-brother Mark Montrose; lifelong companion Alan Ratliff.

She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter Michelle Caito; great-granddaughter Kyleigh Brooks; brother Lloyd Hively.

In accordance with Judy's wishes, cremation will take place without any services.
