BALLARD

Joyce Elaine (Lucas) Ballard, 82, of London, passed away Thursday, January 23, 2025, in Riverside Methodist Hospital, Columbus, with her family by her side.

Born March 25, 1942, in Washington Court House, Ohio, she was a daughter of Jack Lucas and Audrey (Rice) Lucas.

Joyce had worked professionally for the BCI, devoting 27 years of service before retiring. A woman of strong faith, Joyce was a long-time member of the Newport Church of Christ in Christian Union where she especially enjoyed attending the Tuesday night bible study group. An avid camper, Joyce enjoyed the peaceful serenity of being out in nature where she could witness firsthand the beautiful landscapes that God himself had made. Joyce was also an avid Ohio State Buckeyes fan and was overjoyed that she was able to watch the Buckeyes win the National Championship one last time. Additionally, she was a hallmark channel enthusiast, ensuring to mark her schedule for new releases and reruns of some of her favorite movies of which she shared with her family.

Left to cherish her memory include her children: Audrey (George) Powers, Scott (Wendie) Ballard, Jackie (Eric) Rinehart, and Amy Gould; grandchildren: Kyle (Shay) Powers, Sierra Powers, Morgan Ballard, Joshua (Erin) Ballard, and Bradyn Ballard, Ashlie (Keith) Kovalcik, Michael Rayburn, Christopher (Lizzie) Rayburn, Erica (Justin) Henderson, Mallory (Edward Carson) Rayburn, Kenzie Kovalcik, and Jack (Malorie) Gould; great-grandchildren: Haas Powers, Holden Ballard, Kailey Kovalcik, Kallie Kovalcik, Korbyn Kovalcik, Kassidy Kovalcik, Kholton Rayburn, Paisley Rayburn, Wyatt Rayburn, Beckett Henderson, Parker Gould, Waylon Carson, plus two on the way; brother-in-law Brian (Cindy) Ballard, sisters-in-law Carrie (Ken) Fout, Dixie Morris, and Leta Ballard; numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Joyce was preceded in death by her beloved husband Rick Ballard; mother and father-in-law Jan and Floyd Ballard; brother-in-law Larry Ballard.

Joyce's family will receive friends for visitation on Tuesday, January 28, 2025, from 4:00 – 7:00 PM in the EBERLE-FISHER FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY, 103 North Main Street, London, Ohio 43140. A funeral service to honor Joyce's incredible life will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, January 29, 2025, beginning at 12:00 Noon, with Pastor Bill Benner and Mr. Ed Banion officiating. Interment will follow in Deercreek Township Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in Joyce's name may be sent to benefit the Newport Church of Christ in Christian Union Building Fund, 6800 State Route 38 SW, London, Ohio 43140.
