TACKETT John V. Tackett, 71, of London and West Virginia, died Thursday, June 19, 2014 in OSU Medical Center. Born December 7, 1942 in Emmitt, WV; he was a son of Elijah and Vertie (Burke) Tackett. John Had worked at Colonial Stair in Jeffersonville and South Charleston, attended the Apostolic Gospel Church in Henderson, WV, loved the outdoors, old Western movies and four wheeling. Survivors include his wife Velma (Pitts) Owens Tackett; step daughters Angie (Merrill), Lori (Jim), Valerie (John), Ellen, Charidy (Ron), Carla (Kelly), Molly (Shawn) and Amanda (Keith); grandchildren Joshua, Jessica, Dusty, Mathew, Tabitha, Ashley, Amy, Amber, Sommer, Sean, Megan, Eric and Austin; great-grandchildren Morgan, Tatum, Madison, Anna, Keegan, Stevie, Genevieve, Marlee and Charlie; brothers Kenneth (Shirley) Johnson, Harold (Melinda) Little, Dan (Mary) Tackett, Junior Tackett, Chuck Tackett, Dale Tackett, sister Faye Bennett, 16 nieces and nephews and special friends Manuel Arteaga and Bill Hornsby. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Imogene Scales and sister in law Donna Tackett. Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Sunday, June 29, 2014 at the EBERLE-FISHER FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY, 103 N. Main St, London. Interment will follow in Somerford Township Cemetery.
