SCHATZ John "Shotzy" Schatz, 52 of London, OH received his freedom from cancer on Independence Day, July 4, 2015. He was born July 6, 1962 in Columbus, Ohio to Ronald and Betty (Grey) Schatz. He was a professional transportation specialist who loved life and nurtured all he knew with his warmth and thoughtfulness. He is survived by his soulmate Katherine "ToolChik" Hogewoning, mother Betty Pendergraft, sister Janie (Donnie) Rhoads, nieces Ashley Harper and Kayla Mossbarger, great nephew and niece Patrick and Emily Harper, stepchildren Amber (Steve) Mast and Michael Randall. He was preceded in death by his father Ronald Schatz, stepfather Eddie Pendergraft, grandmother Ruby Gray, uncles Clinton "Shine", Clyde "Putt-Putt" and Clifton "Dink" Gray and aunts Frieda Wilt and Annabelle Harter. A graveside service will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, July 10, 2015 at Range Township Cemetery in Sedalia with Rev. Gordon Ell officiating. An open house will follow from 2-4 PM at the Church of Christ In Christian Union in Sedalia. A balloon release will be held at the cemetery at 4:30 PM. On Sunday, July 12, 2015 a Celebration of Life will be held at Choctaw Lake Lodge beginning at Noon with a Memorial by Walter Dickhaut at 1:00 PM. Food and festivities will follow at the Lodge.
