HOANEY

John A. Hoaney, 63, of Dover, Delaware, died Friday, July 22, 2022, in London, Ohio. Born June 14, 1959, in Easton, MD; he was a son of Alfred Hoaney and Louise Boyce.

John will always be remembered as a man after God's heart, a faithful sevant, and a lover of people. He passed away peacefully after a long battle with pancreatic cancer.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister Ada Berry. Survivors include his children Kiayania Hoaney, Amanda Hoaney, and Jonathon Hoaney; grandchildren Keon, Tykeria, Kenashia, Ahmyia, Tyrie, Natyua, Thomas, Kintrey and John Newton, Charles, and Alivia Stanley; great-grandchildren Daiveon and Jayunia; several brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews; his soulmate and caregiver, Jenny Van Tuyle, and dear friend, Linda Myers.

John had been a manager with the Maryland Transit Authority for the past five years. He spent 10 years serving his country in the Maryland Army National Guard, over 40 years as a leader and mentor with Christian Service Brigade, and countless hours serving others, whether serving meals, mentoring fatherless boy, or just by being a listening ear. John's memory will live on forever in the hearts of everyone's lives he touched. He was a member of The Love Church in Stevensville, MD.

In celebration of John's life, there will be a memorial service at The Love Church on Saturday, August 6, 2022 from 10:00am to 11:00am. The address is 711 Main Street, Stevensvill, MD 21666.
