BUELL

Joetta Jean (Holt) Buell, age 73, of Waverly, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 24, 2026, in the Ohio State Wexner Medical Center.

Born on April 14, 1953, in Columbus, Joetta was a daughter of Joseph F. Holt and Clara M. (Anderson) Holt.

A dedicated public servant with a sharp business mind, Joetta spent much of her career helping her community. In the 1980s, she began serving as a dispatcher for the city of Nelsonville before stepping into the line of duty as a Nelsonville police officer. In the 1990s, she continued her public safety work as a dispatcher in London.

Joetta then channeled her attention to detail into entrepreneurship, founding Buell’s Bookkeeping & Taxes in Jackson, Ohio. As a tax resolution specialist and a proud member of the National Association of Enrolled Agents (NAEA), she took great pride in guiding her clients through complex financial challenges with care and expertise.

Beyond her professional sphere, Joetta enjoyed traveling and found her greatest peace and joy in the beauty of the mountains, spending time taking in the fresh air and breathtaking views whenever she could.

Joetta is survived by her children: Joseph M. (Margaret) Buell, William D. (Vickie) Buell, and Jennifer “Angie” Buell; grandchildren: Pete Willmeth, Joseph and Aaron Buell, Kayla (James) Bartoli, Doug, Kathryn (Townsend), and Michael Buell; great-grandchildren: Isla and Lola Bartoli, Eva, Harley, Peyton Mae, and Alexander Willmeth; brother Joe (Dulce) Holt Jr.; nieces and nephews: Joe Holt III, Mark Holt, and Kim Holt.
