JITENDRA MANIYA, age 53, affectionately known as "Jit" passed away on Friday, August 19, 2022 at 10:35 p.m. at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center.

He was born on January 1, 1969 in Mangadh, Gujarat to Damjibhai and Shantaben (Vaghani) Maniya. Jit attended the prestigious Smt. A.J. Savla Homeopathic Medical College and became the first person in his family to graduate college. He later married Ilaben (Saspra) Maniya and had two wonderful sons, Yash and Shrey Maniya. Jit worked as a family physician in Surat, Gujarat, until he moved to the United States in 2006. He has spent the last 12 years in Washington CH, Ohio, serving his community at One Stop 22.

In his spare time, he enjoyed playing board games and spending quality time with his family. He also loved watching cricket and tennis with his sons. He was an avid reader and read every James Patterson novel.

His dog, Lucy, played a critical role in his life. Lucy, who has been with the family since March of 2021, accompanied Jit every day through his treatment. Even during his last days in hospice care, Lucy was by his side.

Survivors include his loving wife, Ila Maniya; sons, Yash and Shrey; parents, Damjibhai and Shantaben; and siblings, Hareshbhai, Heenaben, and Himmatbhai. Also surviving are numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of special friends.

The funeral service will be held on Monday, August 22, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. at the Eberle Fisher Funeral Home, 103 N. Main St., London, OH 43140, with Prakash Maharaj officiating. Family and friends may visit at the funeral home on Monday from 11-2:00 p.m.
