SALYER

With heavy hearts we announce the passing of Jimmie Salyer, age 63, of London, Ohio. Jimmie passed peacefully on June 3, 2025, in the OhioHealth Kobacker House, Columbus, surrounded by the love of his family.

Born on October 14, 1961, in Columbus, Ohio, Jimmie was a son of Norman Salyer and Verna (Gullet) Salyer.

Professionally, Jimmie had worked as a forklift operator for Medline in West Jefferson, where he enjoyed the close comradery he formed with his coworkers. He was a proud member of the Sons of the American Legion, Madison Memorial Post #105 where he was currently serving as Chaplain. Additionally, he belonged to the American Legion Riders, and the Aerie #950, F.O.E.

Left to cherish his memory include his brother Norm (Barb) Salyer and sister Linda Sue Chapman; nieces and nephew Tonya (James) Sanders, Robert (Teri) Downard, Angie Salyer, Dee Salyer, and Nicole Salyer; great nieces and great nephews Amanda (Ryan) Welker, Ben (Stephanie) Downard, Alexsis (Nicholas) Emmert, and Joshua Baker; several cousins including Ankie Hatfield.

Jimmie was preceded in death by his parents; sister Janice (Fred) Ward; brother-in-law Jack Chapman; nephews Leo Downard and Danny Downard.

Jimmie's family will receive friends for visitation on Saturday, June 7, 2025, from 9:00 – 10:00 AM in the EBERLE-FISHER FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY, 103 North Main Street, London, Ohio 43140. A funeral service honoring his life will commence at 10:00 AM with Pastor Tim Stout officiating. Interment will follow in Glen Rest Memorial Estate, Reynoldsburg.

Days spent riding his motorcycle were always the happiest for Jimmie. Therefore, we will continue to honor him by providing one last ride by motorcycle to his eternal resting place.
