SCAGGS Chief Jay Scaggs, 69, of London died Wednesday, November 29, 2017 in Mt. Carmel Medical Center, Columbus. Born October 1, 1948 in Columbus; he was a son of Charles and Naomi (Hopper) Scaggs. Jay retired after 42 years as Chief of Madison County Medical Emergency Squad, and after 32 years as a deputy sheriff for Madison County, he was also active in the Buckeye Sheriff's Association. Survivors include his wife Carole Ann (Jackson) Scaggs; sons Dwayne (Jennifer) Scaggs and Jason Scaggs, daughters Monica (Steve) Redding all of London, Laura (Ray) Payne of Midway and Stephanie (Garrett) Carter of London; grandchildren Bobbie, Jordan (Ashlee), Xavier, Rachael, Nicolas, Tyler, Clayton, Cody, Haley, Logan, Madison, Brooks, Brandon and Brady; great grandchildren Corben, Rhett, Bryndle, Braylex and Emma; brother Steve (Beth) Scaggs, sister Carol (Roger) Adams all of London; several nieces, nephews, brothers in law and sisters in law; his four legged companions Tinkerbelle, Paco, Pebbles and BamBam. He was preceded in death by his mother and father, first wife Shirley, brother Charlie Scaggs, niece Lisa Scaggs and mother in law Ruth L. Jackson. Funeral services will be held at 6:00 PM Sunday in the EBERLE-FISHER FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY, 103 N. Main Street, London with Dr. Teena Gallagher, Chaplain officiating.
