LAYNE James Richard Layne, 82, of London, died Wednesday, August 23, 2017 in Drs. Hospital, Columbus. Born May 25, 1935 in Blougett, Missouri; he was a son of James and Lena (Tisdale) Layne. Richard retired after 30 years as the "Lance Man" (Lance Crackers and Cookies) and was a custodian from Southwestern City Schools and also past president of the Tennessee Walker Horse Club. Survivors include his wife Mary Ann Layne; son James Michael (Cindy) Layne of Plain City, daughter Vickie Lou Wright; grandsons Sean Layne of Gahanna and Jay Wright of London; three great grandchildren; step children Adam (Barbara) Bradford of Rockwell, NC and Elizabeth (TJ) McClelland of Dublin; four step great grandchildren; sister Joy Guthrie. nephew David Guthrie and niece Dawn Guthrie all of KY. He was preceded in death by his first wife Donna Lou Layne in 2010. A graveside service will be held at 11 AM Monday, August 28, 2017 in Sunset Cemetery, Alton with Pastor Jon Osmundson officiating.
