James “Jimmy” Scott Green, age 72, of Columbus, Ohio passed away on the 6th of August 2026, in the loving care of his family, friends, and the staff/hospice nurses at Monterey Care Center in Grove City, OH. In May 2026, Jimmy was diagnosed with metastatic lung cancer which developed into terminal brain cancer.
Jimmy graduated from Franklin Heights High School in 1972 and served overseas in the USAF (Jan 1973–Mar 1976) where he served as a Weapons Mechanic and received an honorable discharge. Jimmy was very proud to have served his country and remained patriotic to the very end of his life. Jimmy later married Roberta (Johnson) Green of Ohio and they were also blessed with two beautiful daughters, Rebecca Jane Green and Jennifer Renee Green. Jimmy later became and remained very close friends with Janis Novotni. We are very thankful for her support, guidance and love for Jimmy.
Jimmy is survived by his two daughters Rebecca and Jennifer Green of Ohio, his son Kristopher Green of Arizona, and his two sisters, Ivy Murphy-Green (Mike) of Ostrander, OH and Krista R. (Green) and Tim Nelson of Columbus, OH.
