Obituary

WINTERS Jack B. "Tubby" Winters, 87, of London died Wednesday, October 9, 2013 in his residence. Born June 7, 1926 in Briggsdale, Ohio; he was the son of Charles Joy and Violet Mae (Schaffer) Winters. Jack was a WWII Army Air Corps Veteran, was a member of the First United Methodist Church of London, very active in Chandler Lodge #138, F & AM, Willis Commandery #82 Knights Templar-London;Grand Council Royal and Selct Mason #41-London, Aladdin Temple Shrine-Columbus and Scottish Rite-Valley of Columbus. Jack was the 2013 Lifetime Hometown Hero recipient for Madison County, having donated over 46 gallons of blood during his lifetime. Jack was awarded a lifetime membership to the London Area Baseball Council where he was one of the original founders of the council. In 2006, Jack retired from the Martin Marietta Company after 57 years of service. Survivors include his son Richard "Buck" (Judy) Winters of London, daughter and loving caregiver Teri (Don) Hahn of London and Martha "Marty" (Don) Fields of Amarillo, TX; grandchildren Megan (Andrew) Losinske, Molly (Chad) Peters, Luke Winters (Mallory Murry), Andrea Ashmore, Nick (Jessica) Markley, Leah Fields and Rachel Fields; great grandchildren Colton Winters, Eli North, Charley Peters, Caitlyn Biller, Samantha Ashmore, Cameron, Cora & Gabriella Markley, Kingston and ZsaZsa Losinske and Kielon Fields; sisters Jean Irwin of Canyon, TX, Mary (Manny) Phelps of Grove City, Barbara Hollingshead of Grove City and Sally Raymond of Orient; his traveling baddy, "Popcorn" Lewis; and many special nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his parents and wife Peggy Jean Winters in 2006. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM Sunday in the EBERLE-FISHER FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY, 103 N. Main Street, London. Friends may call at the funeral home from 2-4 and 6-8 PM Saturday. If they wish, friends may make memorial contributions to the American Red Cross or the Madison County Humane Society.
