DAVIS Icle G. Davis, 87, of London died Monday, December 24, 2018 in Sisters on Elm, London. Born February 12, 1931 in Rush, KY; he was a son of Herbert Lewis and Marjorie (Holbrook) Davis. Icle had been a teacher at Springfield South High School, taught Summer school at Wittenberg University, was a principal at Madison South, was a JVS director for Maple Heights and Tolles and was a deputy registrar for the Madison County BMV. A US Army Veteran of Korea; he was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church, a member of the Knights of Columbus, chairman of the Madison County Democratic Party, director of the Madison County Historical Society and served in numerous capacities with the AMVETS, DAV, VFW and Madison Memorial Post #105, American Legion. Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Mary Jean (Pitstick) Davis; children Michael Anthony (Kim Robertson) Davis, Cecelia (Michael) Rutkoski, Mary Beth (Andy) Westhoff and Kevin Lee (Belinda) Davis; grandchildren Jason (Marley) Rutkoski, Jacob Rutkoski, Ashley Rutkoski, Ryan Fumi, Shannon (Michael) Coil, Jesse (Christina) Davis and Danyelle Davis; great-grandchildren Isaac Coil and Alexandra Rutkoski; brother and sisters Ruby Raymond, Ruth Mills, Glenna Samuels, Annabell All, Margaret Giesling, Barbara Peterman, Carolyn Simpson, Loretta Austin, William L. Davis and Phyllis Jane Davis; many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Johnny Allen Davis, Rex Davis, Robert Davis and sister Sandra Buehl. A funeral mass will be celebrated at 12 noon on Saturday, December 29, 2018 at St. Patrick Catholic Church with Father Michael Hinterscheid officiating. Interment will follow in St. Charles Cemetery, South Charleston. Friends may call at the church from 10 AM until time of service.
