BATEMAN Howard Edward Bateman, 72, of West Jefferson died July 17, 2014 at the Grant Medical Center of Columbus Ohio. Born June 26, 1942 in Franklin County, he was the son of the late John and Rose (Beard) Bateman. An Army veteran, he had worked at Cardinal Foods as a forklift operator for 23 years before retiring in 1997. Survivors include his loving wife of nearly 50 years Barbara (White); children Chris (Melinda) Bateman, Kevin (Beth) Bateman and Trina (Craig Stone) Adams all of West Jefferson; brothers Larry (Dixie) Bateman of London and Tom (Jenny) Bateman of Columbus; grandchildren Colleen Adams, Josh Bateman, Nicki Bateman, Michael Bateman and 9 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son Tyson Bateman and siblings; Russell Bateman, Betty Hunter, Marjorie Batman, and Robert Bateman. Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Wednesday, July 23, 2014 in the EBERLE-FISHER FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY, 103 N. Main St. London Ohio. Interment will follow at the Dennison Chapel Cemetery.
