Helen M. Stevens of London, Ohio, passed away on January 3, 2023.
She was born in Mahanoy City, Pennsylvania on September 11, 1924, and lived there 18 years. She graduated in 1942 from M.C. High School and went to Baltimore, Maryland to work for Western Electric during World War II. She helped to assemble Radar Equipment! It had just been invented.
She is survived by three daughters and a son: Virginia Lantz, Patricia Golladay, Elizabeth Lassel and son-in-law George, son Michael Stevens and daughter-in-law Sharon; eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband Francis E. Stevens, a brother, her parents, and grandsons Adam Stevens and Jason Golladay.
She has been active volunteering for many organizations, with church, and for assisted living.
The family invites friends to visitation on Wednesday, January 11, 2023, in the EBERLE-FISHER FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY, 103 North Main Street, London, Ohio 43140 from 4:00 – 6:00 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, January 12, 2023, in St. Patrick Catholic Church, 61 South Union Street, London with Father Patrick Toner officiating. Interment will take place on Friday, January 13, 2023, beginning at 12:00 PM in White Chapel Memorial Gardens, 3547 US Route 60 E, Barboursville, West Virginia, 25504.
The family wishes to express their gratitude to all of their caregivers and friends at The Bluebird Retirement Community in London for their service, compassion, and excellent care.
