HOUCK Helen Houck, 98, of Springfield, died Saturday, August 6, 2016 in Springfield. Born August 5, 1918 in Union County; she was a daughter of William and Ursel (Brown) Parthemore. A farmers wife all of her life; Helen was a long-time member of the Plattsburg United Church of Christ, had belonged to Mechanicsburg Caroline Chapter #39, OES and had been active in school, grange and community organizations. Survivors include her daughters Patricia (Dick) Brake and Nancy Thacker; grandchildren Larry (Cindy) Brake, Teresa (Dave) Goins and Kimberly (Don Simpson) Fry; great-grandchildren Derek (Ashley) Brake, Lauren (Rob) Heaton, Kyle Goins, Regan Goins, Duncan Simpson and Mari Simpson; great-great grandchildren Liam and Elizabeth Brake; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years Harold Houck on April 20, 1987, son in law David Thacker, brothers Luther and William Parthemore and sisters Frieda Hughes, Rita Wehrs, Thelma Wehrs, Dorothy Bradshaw and Doris Walters. A funeral service will be held at 3 PM Wednesday in the EBERLE-FISHER FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY, 103 N. Main St, London with Rev. Curt Miner officiating. Interment will follow in Somerford Township Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 2 PM-3PM Wednesday.
