Gus Hoosier Jr., age 84 of London, passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 20, 2026, in Madison Health.

Born on August 1, 1942, in London, he was a son of Gus Hoosier Sr. and Zera Louise (Napper) Hoosier. For many years, Gus was a familiar, warm face in Columbus, Ohio, where he owned and operated his own shoe store. He enjoyed fishing when he was able to, and in his later years he could often be seen riding his scooter around London, an activity he thoroughly enjoyed.

Gus is survived by his sister Jackie Hoosier Boronell and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins, including his special niece Barbara Whitelow and very dear friend Della Timmons and her sons who took excellent care of Gus and showed him endless compassion.

He was preceded in death by his parents Gus Sr. and Zera in addition to twelve siblings.

A memorial visitation for family and friends will be held on Saturday, August 29, 2026, from 11:00 AM – 12:30 PM in the EBERLE-FISHER FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY, 103 North Main Street, London, Ohio 43140. Memorial services at the funeral home will begin at 12:30 PM followed by interment in Oak Hill Cemetery.
