Gloria Marie Fay, age 78 of West Jefferson, Ohio passed away on Wednesday, December 4, 2024 at Darby Glenn Nursing & Rehabilitation Center. She was born on July 23, 1946 in Corning, NY to Robert and Theresa (Earl) Seymour. Gloria was a graduate of West High School. Gloria loved her family and friends above all else, and her heart was especially full when she was with her two granddaughters, who brought her immeasurable joy. As a grandmother (Gigi), she made everyone feel special, always listening and offering unwavering support, day or night. Her granddaughters often remarked on how safe and loved she made them feel, a testament to her nurturing spirit. She was a woman of great strength and grace. Even in the most difficult times of her life, Gloria never lost her smile and continued to bring light and joy to all those around her. She never met a stranger and was always kind to everyone she encountered. A lover of nature, Gloria found peace and joy in birdwatching, especially when spotting the vibrant red of cardinals. She was also an avid cook, with every meal she prepared being nothing short of phenomenal. Her passion for life extended to her love for music and dancing, where she could always be found moving with the rhythm of joy. Gloria was a true community member, always busy with activities at the American Legion, VFW, or Marconi Lodge. She was also actively involved in the Corning Baptist Church. She was incredibly organized, often making lists for everything, and was always willing to lend a hand wherever she was needed. Gloria is survived by her daughter, Faith "Fay" (Brandon) Herring , granddaughters: Emi & Ella Herring, sister in-law: Kathy Mayo; nieces: Lisa (Eric) Brand, Kelly Frank, Carlie Schoener; nephews: Joe (Pam) Schoener, along with great nieces, great nephews, cousins, and endless amounts of friends! In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by sister, Fidella Woodworth; half-sister, Rose Earl; brother in-law ,Tom Mayo; sister in-law, Carlene Schoener; parents in-law: Lucille Timmins, Jack Timmins, and Carl Fay Senior. A graveside service will be held at Barnard Cemetery, 11001 West Caton Road Corning, NY on Monday, December 16, 2024 at Noon. Phillips Funeral Home has been entrusted with her final arrangements. A gathering will be held at the Marconi Lodge, 26 W Pulteney St, Corning, NY following the graveside service.
