LASZEWSKI

Gary Lee Laszewski, 75, of London, Ohio, passed away peacefully to meet his Savior on February 5th, 2023.  He was born in Binghamton, NY, on August 17, 1947, son of the late Leo and Betty (Mason) Laszewski.  He married his loving wife, Pamela (Harris) Laszewski on May 26, 1978.  He leaves two brothers, David Laszewski and wife Janet of Port Crane, NY, Dennis Laszewski of Apalachin, NY, two daughters, Shelli (Laszewski) Hankins and husband Roger of Pflugerville, TX and Amy (Laszewski) Ward and husband Mike of Gilmer, TX.  He also leaves behind two sons, Steven Laszewski and wife Heather of London, OH, and Kevin Laszewski of Columbus, OH.  He is preceded in death by his oldest son, Michael Laszewski, of London, OH.  He also leaves behind six grandchildren, Allison Dickey and husband Kevin, Jonathan Hankins and wife Kaitlyn of Pflugerville, TX, Kameron Ward and sister Callie Ward of Gilmer, TX, Noah and Addison Laszewski of London, OH.  He leaves behind five great-grandchildren, Eli, Jaiden, and Ryan Dickey, and Addyson and John Cason Hankins.

Gary graduated in 1966 from Maine-Endwell Sr. High School, in Endwell, New York.  He was involved in sports as a youth, loved baseball, and "Lettered" in three sports. He had a 'tryout' with the Syracuse Chiefs, triple A (AAA) Farm Club of the New York Yankees. He was a life-long Yankee fan. He served in the National Guard in both New York and Texas. He retired, a Corrections Officer, from Travis County Sheriff's Department, Austin, TX.

Gary never met a stranger. He had a strong faith in Jesus, and shared his faith with anyone who would listen.

Throughout his life he volunteered with Children's ministries.  His favorite was going with volunteers from our 'Church of Glad Tidings' in Austin, Texas, and spending Saturday mornings ministering to children who lived in the disadvantaged area in east Austin.

After retiring and moving to Ohio, he slowed down a little. He enjoyed singing in his church choir, attending men's Bible studies and going out for lunch with Pastor Jerry and his pals. He also volunteered with Loving Care Hospice in London, visiting and reading to patients.  Gary will be greatly missed.

A memorial service is being held for Gary on Saturday, February 11th, at 2pm, at Faith Assembly Worship Center, located at 2600 US-40, London, OH, 43140. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Faith Assembly Church, London, Ohio, and "The Jack Strong Foundation" PO Box 395, Bridgeport, WV. 26330, supporting families affected by childhood cancer.
