GROVES Garry A. Groves, 71, of London died Wednesday, March 21, 2018 in the Dayton VA Hospital. Born March 22, 1946 in Columbus; he was a son of Howard and Pauline (Kerns) Groves. Garry retired from Lennox Industries in Columbus after 25 years and was a charter member of Central Townships Fire Department, where he retired as a Captain after 20 years of service. A US Army veteran of Vietnam, where he received a purple heart, Garry was belonged to Madison Memorial Post #105, American Legion, Sons of the American Legion, Military Order of the Purple Heart-Chapter #620, The Forty and Eight, Local #477-life member, Vietnam Veterans' of America-life member, Combat Infantrymen's Association, Amvets Post #19, DAV Chapter #93, the Clarence B. Casto VFW, Post #7005 West Jefferson, the Madison County Veterans Service Commission and a dedicated member of Bill W. Survivors include his wife Virginia (White) Groves; daughters Lorie (Chris) Daugherty of South Vienna and Mary Jane (Randy) Cutlip of Sedalia; grandsons Tyler Artis and Harper Cutlip; brother Robert (Pat) Groves of London and twin brother Larry Groves of Reynoldsburg; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother and his wife John Edward "Jack" and Marilyn Groves. Funeral services will be held at 10 AM Monday in the EBERLE-FISHER FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY, 103 N. Main Street, London with Mr. Ed Banion officiating. Interment will follow in Deercreek Township Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 2-5 Sunday. The family suggests memorials in Garry's name be made to Central Townships Fire Department.
