SLAGLE Frank E. Slagle, 77, of London died Tuesday, March 5, 2019 in Sisters on Elm. Born June 11, 1941 in London; he was a son of Elmer and Mary (Herman) Slagle. A graduate of London High School, Frank served in the US Army, then graduated from The Ohio State University with a degree in Art Education. He had been an art teacher at West Jefferson and Mechanicsburg Schools before working at BCI, from which he retired. Frank was an avid antique collector and had been a member of the following organizations: The Downtown London Association, City of London Historical Board, Rails to Trails, Madison County Democratic Party, Madison County Senior Center, Miami Valley Steam Threshers, London Kiwanis Club and the former London ODD Fellows Lodge. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Robert R. Slagle, Richard P. Slagle, William Slagle and Joseph Slagle. Survivors include his sisters in law Elsie Slagle and Donna Shields; several nieces and one nephew including Nancy Husband, Jim (Diane) Slagle and Stephanie (Steve) Schellin; many great nieces and nephews including Christian Slagle, Meredith and Landon Schellin and many good friends. Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Friday in the EBERLE-FISHER FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY, 103 N. Main St, London with Rev. Steve Schellin officiating. Interment will follow in Kirkwood Cemetery, London. Friends may call at the funeral home from 4-8 PM Thursday.
