Obituary

HERMAN Florence Matilda (Flo/Flossie) Herman, 88 transformed in a moment, in a twinkling of an eye from her earthly body to her brand new body to a City called Heaven. Softly, tenderly, gently her breath left her while her daughter and granddaughter witnessed the Angel of Mercy's visit. October 1, 1926 was mother's sunrise. We shared many, many, many wonderful years together. Sometimes we laughed, we cried, we worked through sorrow and pain together as we journeyed through this life. Then, suddenly, Wednesday, April 1, 2015, sunset, our journey together was over; A new beginning for mother. A devout woman of God, mother was a faithful member of The First Baptist Church until her health prevented her from attending service as she desired. Never giving up on her faith in Jesus Christ, she lived her life the best she knew how. Many days I recall her raising her hands and saying "God is so good". She was relying on the promise that her eternal home was with her Heavenly Father, a promise of many rooms in that mansion as it is written. Mother was known to many as a lovely, kind, fun/loving, gentle woman who appreciated life and all of her family members as well as her Pastor and church family. Mother retired in 2001 after serving as a dedicated London, Ohio City employee. Preceding her from this life was her parents Charles and Nora (Byrd) Herman; Four brothers Voss, George, Harold and Pearl Herman; Four sisters Mary Byrd, Ossie Artis, Clara Napper, and Anna Mae Scales and a Special nephew, Jeffrey Hoosier. Cherishing her memory is her daughter, Sandra (Michael) Fisher; Her granddaughter, Tamika (BJ) Wall and Scottie (the dog); Numerous nephews, nieces, other family members, and her "telephone buddies". With dignity and pride, mother brought her own individuality to death with great joy as she met her Heavenly Father face to face. As mother's body lies before us and our hearts are heavy with sadness, she is rejoicing in her new body.
