SCURRY Evelyn Byrd Scurry went to be home with the Lord on Tuesday, May 13, 2014. She was born April 25, 1939 in London, Ohio. She was the daughter of Herschel and Mary Byrd Sr. She attended London High School. She worked for Ranco Controls where she retired after 30 years of service. She was a member of St. John Missionary Baptist Church in Springfield, Ohio. She enjoyed singing in the choir, attending Sunday School and being part of the welcome committee. She also enjoyed volunteering with the local Food Thru Faith organization. She was preceded in death by her parents, son David Scurry, brothers: Richard and James Byrd, Alfred "Butch" Wilson and sister CorLee Byrd. Survivors include sons Ralph (Chere) and Randy Scurry Sr. of London; grandchildren: Randy Jr, Ashli and David Scurry; brothers: Herschel (Dimitira) Byrd of Urbana, Harold (Mary Jo) and Lewis Byrd of London; stepbrother Charles Whitelow of Columbus; aunts Avanelle and Florence Herman of London; sister in law Beulah (Michael) Pinkston of Columbus and brother in law Harold "Jack" Scurry of London; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Friends may call at the First Baptist Church on Thursday, May 15th from 4-8 pm and Friday, one hour prior to services. Funeral Services will be Friday, May 16th at First Baptist Church at 1:00 pm. Interment will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery. Arrangements are under direction of the EBERLE-FISHER FUNERAL HOME, London, Ohio.
