BALDWIN

Ervin Leroy Baldwin, Sr., 82, of London, died Friday, August 30, 2024, in the Kobacker House, Columbus.

Born January 3, 1942, in Lawrence County, Ohio, he was a son of Willard Russell Baldwin and Opal Beatrice (Tagg) Baldwin.

Ervin was a dedicated farm hand, working on several farms across Madison County throughout his career. A man of strong faith, he found his calling in ministry and went on to serve as the Assistant Pastor for the Newport Church of Christ in Christian Union. Additionally, Ervin provided pastoral care for the Arbors, Bluebird Retirement Community, and the former Madison County Jail, retiring after a 50-year career in ministry.

Ervin leaves behind his loving wife of 62 years Carol (Knisley) Baldwin; daughter Patty (Ronnie) Newsome, son Ervin (Sherri) Baldwin, Jr; grandchildren Tyler Stires and Ashli Hollander; great-grandchildren Alina Stires, Jack Stires, Maddison Stires, Gavin Hollander, Ava Hollander, Tanner Hollander and Milla Hollander; brother David (Sherry) Baldwin; several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Ervin was preceded in death by daughter Penny Baldwin; sister Hilda Faye Gilliam; brothers John Baldwin, Gary Baldwin, and Paul Franklin Baldwin.

The family invite friends to a visitation on Tuesday, September 3, 2024, from 4:00 – 7:00 PM in the EBERLE-FISHER FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY, 103 North Main Street, London, Ohio 43140. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, September 4, 2024, beginning at 10:00 AM with Pastor Bill Benner officiating. Interment will follow in Paint Memorial Cemetery.

To honor his legacy, memorials in Ervin's name may be sent to benefit the Newport Church of Christ in Christian Union, 6800 State Route 38 S, London, Ohio 43140.
