Obituary

ROEDER

Eric Allen Roeder, Sr., 39, of London, passed away Thursday, May 16, 2024, in Mount Carmel East Hospital. He had been clean for over a year, but as most know he delt with chronic back pain. Late Wednesday night he made the mistake of taking a step back in an attempt to deal with the pain. Unfortunately, it cost us all dearly. But we don't want our Dad to be known for that or remembered that way. We want you to know that he was first and foremost an amazing Dad, and amazing person and a pretty cool dude in general.

Born on August 19, 1984, in Circleville, he was a son of Karl Roeder and Paige (Olney) Palmer. He had a hard life, some of it he would be the first to admit was based on choices he made. But he was extremely loyal to those he called friends or family. He was an amazing carpenter that could build anything and had worked to teach himself how to fix/do a little bit of everything. He was also the builder of the best and biggest bonfires.

The ONLY thing he loved more than fishing was us. He always put us first and sacrificed for us. Be it by selling his 4Runner so that he could pay an attorney to get custody of us or spending a whole paycheck so that "His boys could look pimpin' for their prom". He called/texted us every day that he didn't see us, which is why we knew something wasn't right Thursday morning.

He fought his demons as fiercely as he could, and we are so proud of him and grateful for the extra time we had with him.

Always the fun Dad he was down to jump off a bridge, go hiking, fishing or of course to go shooting, set off fireworks, and have a roman candle fight. Basically, if we wanted to do it, he would make it happen.

Dad was the toughest guy we knew, afraid of nothing but also having the soft side, always making sure to give us the biggest hugs and tell us he loved us when we would have to leave. This is the way we choose to remember him, and hope that you will too.

To everyone who has taken the time to call, message or reach out to us or our mom – thank you. It means a lot to all of us, and we are grateful.

To our inner circle – you know who you are, thank you for helping us breathe these last couple of days. We don't know if we can ever express how grateful we are for you and how immensely you have helped us.
