THIEL

Edgar "Ed" A. Thiel, 98, of London died Friday, June 10, 2022, in Doctors Hospital Columbus.

Born December 5, 1923, in London, Ohio, he was a son of John and Clara (Garner) Thiel.

A US Navy Veteran of World War II; Ed had also served as a volunteer firefighter. He retired from Westinghouse in Columbus in 1984 and had also worked as a bartender at the former Palm Grill in London and ran deliveries for Ballenger's in London.

Survivors include his children Linda (Howard) LeVan of Florida, Tom (Eva) Thiel, Ben (Bev) Thiel, Raymond Thiel and Lib (George) Wilson all of London; 13 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; brother Charles "Skip" Thiel of RI; numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife Frances Thiel; son John Thiel; stepsons Danny Nixon and David Nixon; sister Ruth Thiel; brothers Gordon, Bob, Jim, Dick and Bill Thiel.

Funeral services will be held at 1 PM Tuesday, June 14, 2022, in the EBERLE-FISHER FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY, 103 N. Main Street, London with Mr. Bill Henry officiating. Interment will follow in Kirkwood Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 11 AM until time of services Tuesday.
