IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Dottalene "Dottie"
(Nash) Kunkle
September 28, 1943 – July 17, 2025
KUNKLE
With great sorrow we announce the passing of Dottalene "Dottie" Kunkle, a longtime resident of Plain City and formerly London, who passed on Thursday, July 17, 2025, at the age of 81. Dottie passed peacefully at home surrounded by the love of her family.
The cherished daughter of Charles C. Nash Sr. and Dorothy A. (Cromley) Nash, Dottie was born on September 28, 1943, at Grant Medical Center in Columbus, Ohio. A graduate of Central High School, Dottie went on to work over 50 years with the majority of her career dedicated as an accountant for her family business, Nash & Associates. Family meant everything to Dottie, and she was truly happiest when they were together. She especially enjoyed watching her brothers play in their band and dancing to their music when she was able.
An experienced traveler, Dottie also liked taking trips with her traveling companion, Brent Smith. Together they would take their trailer to Arizona at least once a year. Dottie would also routinely venture to Mackinac Island, either for solo trips or trips enjoyed with her kids and grandkids, and this always remained her favorite destination filled with countless memories together. A huge Ohio State Buckeye fan, Dottie enjoyed football season more than any other where she was sure to never miss a single game. Saturdays were truly celebrated in the Kunkle household.
Steadfast in her faith, Dottie was a longtime member of the Christian Community Church and developed many sisters in faith who became like family to her. Dottie was sure to always have her bible by her side. Even when her sight started to leave her, Dottie's family assumed the role of reading her favorite scriptures aloud as she would listen reverently and smile. No matter what troubles life challenged her with, Dottie remained calm and collected –never complaining about her situation knowing that her faith would always get her through anything and that everything will work out according to God's plan.
Dottie leaves a strong legacy of love behind through her daughter: Tamra Monroe-Kunkle; grandchildren: Chandra (Tony) LaRosa, Melody (Johnathan) King, Katharin (Brian) Fout, Honesty Javorina, Willow Hopper, Jericho Hopper; great-grandchildren: Lakeyn, Brady, Lydia, Aryah, Damien, and Kiyah; brother Lee (Pam) Nash, sister-in-law Carolyn Nash; several nieces and nephews; many sisters from the church and numerous friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents Charles and Dorothy Nash; beloved husband Pastor Jack Kunkle; brother Cliff Nash; son Jackie Kunkle; granddaughter Laelynn Larosa.
Private interment in Kirkwood Cemetery will be completed at the convenience of the family. A memorial service to celebrate and honor Dottie's life will be held on Monday, August 4, 2025, beginning at 5:00 PM, in the Christian Community Church, 5586 Olentangy River Rd, Columbus, OH 43235, with Pastor Duane Flemming officiating.
If they wish, friends may send memorials in honor of Dottie to the church.
