SMITH Doris D. Smith, 103 plus, of London died Friday, March 9, 2018 in the Madison House. Born October 9, 1914 in Champaign County; she was a daughter of Mearl and Ruth (Hatfield) Doty. A long time member of the First United Methodist Church; Doris was also an 80 year member of the London Chapter #386, OES, where she was past worthy matron in 1980. She had also worked at the Madison Press for five years before working for the former Central National Bank (now Huntington National Bank), retiring as head cashier. Survivors include her daughter and son in law Carole Sue and Thomas Clemens; several grandchildren including Jennifer Walker, Patrick Clemens and Andrew (Victoria) Clemens; six great-grandchildren; niece Patricia (Craig) McCord and dear friends Avonelle Herman and Michelle Budd. She was preceded in death by her son Roger David Smith; dearest friend Robert C. Mahan and sisters Virginia (Scott) Richards and Betty (John) Meehan. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM Tuesday, March 13, 2018 in the First United Methodist Church, 52 N. Main St. London with Pastor Steve Rath officiating. Interment will follow in Kirkwood Cemetery. Friends may call from 5-8 PM Monday in the EBERLE-FISHER FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY, 103 N. Main St, London, where Eastern Star services will begin at 7:30 PM Monday. The family suggests memorials in Doris' name be made to the First United Methodist Church Building Fund.
