Obituary

GOLDHARDT Doris G. (Ward) Goldhardt, 94, of London died January 6, 2018, two months before her 95th birthday. Born March 12, 1923 on a farm near Keystone, OH; she moved from those hills to London, OH at age 6 and graduated from London High School. Doris married Richard "Dick" Goldhardt on August 9, 1946, whom she had met square dancing. Together they were active in the WW II 87th Infantry Division Association. She retired from the Federal Civil Service, beginning as a secretary during WW II, then as a computer programmer at the birth of the computer age. Doris was passionate and committed to the things that moved her: travel, decorating for Christmas, generations of Chihuahuas, Ohio State football, playing cards and above all, living life on her own terms. Survivors include her daughter Susan (Jim) Weeks, a multitude of nieces, nephews, cousins and their families, her beloved pets Cheyenne and Lovey and special friend Karen Ruggles. She was preceded in death by her husband Richard, mother Berdie Bockstahler, aunt Mildred (Pearl) Stokes, brother Bill Wickline and lifelong friends Ethel Corbitt and Dorothy Sheets. Funeral services will be held at 1 PM Wednesday in the EBERLE-FISHER FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY, 103 N. Main Street, London. Interment will follow in Paint Memorial Cemetery, London. Friends may call at the funeral home from 11 AM until time of services Wednesday. The family suggests memorials be made to the Madison County Humane Society, PO Box 777, London, OH 43140. Online condolences for the family may be sent to www.eberlefisherfuneralhome.com. Funeral Date: 2018-01-10
