CORDLE Doris R. (Miller) Cordle, 89, of London, died at 3:40AM Sunday, July 7, 2013 in Sisters on Main in London. Born October 3, 1923 in Greene County, OH, she was a daughter of Roy and Nancy (Wedge) Miller. Doris was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of London for over 50 years and was also a member and Past Matron of the OES #386. A member and Past Regent of the London Chapter National Society of the DAR, she was also a member of the National Society Colonial Dames XVII Century, the Sons and Daughters of the Pilgrims and she was a life member of the Open Gate Garden Club. Doris was also a Past State President of the Daughters of the Founders and Patriots of America. She was the owner and operator of the Cordle Motel and Mobile Home Park in London and had been employed as an executive secretary for Wright Patterson Air Force Base and General Motors. She had attended Bliss College. Survivors are her sons, Craig (Mary) Cordle and Keith Cordle both of London; grandson David Cordle of London; granddaughter Rachel Cordle of London; a sister, Grace Yerian of London; and nieces and nephews, Bruce (Becky) Yerian, Yvonne Hiteshue, Ralph Lee Miller, Diane (Tim) Milholland , and Connie Sue (Garley) Parsons. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Delmer S. Cordle; and brothers Herb, Donald, and Ralph Miller. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00PM Wednesday in the First Presbyterian Church of London with Rev. Gordon Johnson officiating. Interment will follow in Kirkwood Cemetery. Friends may call at the church from 5 to 8PM Tuesday and one hour prior to services Wednesday. If they wish, friends may make memorial contributions to the First Presbyterian Church of London.
