MURPHY Donald David Murphy Sr., 82, of London died Thursday, December 25, 2014 at the Arthur G. James Cancer Hospital in Columbus. Born May 30, 1932 in Grantsville, West Virginia; he was the son of Howard and Hazel "Narr" (Starcher) Murphy. Donald retired in 1994 from Goodyear Tire & Rubber in Marysville. He had served in the US Army during the Korean War. Donald married Shirley A. (Daum) Murphy on June 4, 1955 in Richmond, Indiana. Donald is survived by his children: David (Denise) Murphy, Douglas Murphy, and Carol (Chris) Ansel; grandchildren Allen, Matt, Rebekah, Laura, Erin, Lance, Duane, Cindy, Megan and Bryan; great-grandchildren George, Julian, Paisley, Abgail, Vendalyn, Cassandra, and James III; brother Gene Murphy and niece Angela Amrine. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Shirley in 2006 and sister Martha Amrine. A gathering of family and friends will be held from 3-6 PM on Tuesday, December 30, 2014 in the EBERLE-FISHER FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY, 103 N. Main St, London. Graveside services will be held at a later date. Memorials in Donald's name may be made to Life Care Alliance, Meals on Wheels program of Madison County.
