ELLARS Donald K. Ellars, 94, of London left this world on Friday, April 14, 2017. Born March 3, 1923 in Sedalia; he was a son of Benjamin Franklin and Ottie Althea (Reid) Ellars. A decorated WWII Army veteran, Don had worked at Westinghouse for 15 years, then was superintendent for the former Madison County Children's Home and he retired in 1985 from the London Street Department. Survivors include his daughter and son in law Dianne and Bud Miller of London; son Donald "Pete" Ellars of Columbus; grandson Joshua (Bethan) Ellars; great-granddaughters Destiny, Lexie and Daisy Ellars all of London; sister Theda Dennett of San Diego; brother in law Russell Knisley; several nieces and nephews; many close friends including Judy Shoemaker of Idaho and Jim and Brenda Stambaugh of London. He was preceded in death by his wife Irene (Knisley) Ellars in 2014; his parents, one brother and four sisters. Funeral services will be held at 1 PM Wednesday in the London Church of the Nazarene with Pastor Jack Davis officiating. Interment follows in Range Township Cemetery. Friends may call at the church from 6-8 PM Tuesday and 11 AM-1 PM Wednesday. The family suggests memorials be made to the Building Fund of the Nazarene Church, 224 Elm St, London, OH 43140.
