CARPENTER

Debra Ethyl Carpenter, 69, of South Salem, died Sunday, November 20, 2022, in her residence surrounded by her loving family.

Born January 13, 1953, in Florida, she was a daughter of Forrest and Owida Mertans.

Debra had worked professionally as a correctional officer for 17 years in Orient Correctional. She loved interior decorating and arranging flowers. She also enjoyed Longaberger baskets and accumulated quite a collection over the years.

She is survived by her husband William Carpenter; stepson Michael (Tracie) Hull; daughter Rita Sanders, sons John Mertans and Bill Sanders; grandson Robert Watkins. She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, and one sister.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, November 25, 2022, beginning at 1:00 PM in the EBERLE-FISHER FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY, 103 North Main Street, London, with Reverend Jim Blankenship officiating. Interment will immediately follow in Oak Hill Cemetery, London. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 11:00 AM until the time of services.
