Day’Shawn Lamar Baker, a native of Ohio and a resident of Cocoa Beach, Florida, passed away on April 12, 2026.
He is survived by two special children: Ty’Ren Clark and Ta’Mira Hutchins; his loving mother, Kelly Camp and Step-father Wayne Jones; Five Brothers: Spencer Alley, Derrick, Del’Quan, Da’Quandae, and Da’Mohn Baker, Two sisters D’Erykah and Dizaria Baker.
Day’Shawn shared a special bond with his Aunts: Samantha Camp, Amanda Kraft, Anedra Burns, Angel Snyder, and Regina Baker; and his Uncles Alan Hoover, who served as a confidant and guiding light to Day’Shawn, and Mark Baker; He also leaves behind many cousins who were dear to him, including Big Zy, KenKade Snyder, Terrence Hiseman, Marvin Harris, Jimmy (“Junior”) Harrison, John Holmes, Tray Tray, Javon (“Bake Bean”) Jones, D’Maughn (“Money”), Nelson (“Nelly”), and Devonta Chatman.
His two closest friends, William Morton and Micheal Sweet Sr., held a special place in his life.
Day’Shawn was preceded in death by his father Derrick Baker Sr. and grandparents Sam and Linda Camp.
At the time of his passing, Day’Shawn was on a journey to turn his life around. He was working, embracing the family life, attending church, and pursuing his GED while working in the industrial field. He was deeply passionate about his rap music and had a natural talent that brought him pride and purpose.
Day’Shawn had a one-of-a-kind spirit – both outgoing and quietly reflective. His laugh was contagious, often drawing others in before they even realized why they were smiling. His presence could light up any room, and that warmth will live on through the memories he leaves behind.
Visitation will be held on Friday, May 1, 2026, from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM in the EBERLE-FISHER FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY, 103 North Main Street, London, Ohio 43140. Funeral services will then begin at 1:00 PM. In honoring Day’Shawn’s life, family and friends will be invited to share their favorite memories and stories – the moments that made you laugh, smile, and feel the light Day’Shawn brought into the world.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in Day'Shawn's name may be sent to the funeral home for the benevolence of the family to offset funeral expenses. Memorials may be submitted below through the donation link, or by contacting the funeral home directly.
