On Sunday, February 22, 2026, David L. Kellough of London, Ohio (son of Kermit L. Kellough and Lois E. (Howsmon) Kellough, departed this life, leaving behind three daughters: Stacia S. Clifton and her two adult children, Jared and Zoe Clifton, all of whom reside in Columbus; Ranee E. Martin, her husband Michael, and their adult son Max, of Naperville and Chicago, Illinois respectively; Nickelle A. Kellough-Menendez, her husband Carlos, and sons Gabriel, Daniel, and Nicolas, at home, in Ponte Vedra, Florida; sister Paula Cobb, of Texas; numerous nieces, grand nieces and nephews, as well as cousins Steve “Chip” Kellough and Elizabeth Voss, both of Powell, Ohio; Debbie Sayre of Scottsdale, Arizona; Geoff and Cameron Mitchell of Columbus; Brian Mitchell of Midlothian, Virginia; Jim Kellough of Washington Court House; Ron Howsmon, of Hilliard, Ohio; and Roger Rowsmon, of Alamo, California. Kellough was 82 years old.

Born at Christ Hospital in Cincinnati, while his father was in service to our nation in the U.S. Marine Corps during World War II, he was a descendant, on his father’s side, of Madison County farmer, John William Kellough (1839-1923); and on his mother’s side, he was a descendant of a Madison County town constable and tavern-owner, Thomas Frost Howsmon (1854-1919). Kellough himself grew to manhood on several consecutive farms in Madison and surrounding counties, performing all the tasks that boys of his era undertook as part of “life on the farm.” He attended and graduated from London High School (Class of 1961); and thereafter, he attended and graduated from Miami University, Oxford, Ohio (Class of 1966), where he also attended graduate school, majoring in Journalism and Mass Communications.

After college he held various positions in corporate communications with Marathon Oil Company in Findlay, and later with American Greetings Corporation in Cleveland, prior to taking a communications position with Northamerican Heating & Airconditioning Wholesalers Assn. (NHAW), an international trade association then headquartered in Columbus. Thereafter he became Executive Director of yet another international trade association, Airconditioning & Refrigeration Wholesalers Assn. (ARW), then headquartered in Boca Raton, Florida, where Kellough moved with his family in 1982. A few years later, he formed Magellan Management, Inc., to manage local, state, regional, national, and international trade and professional associations. He served as President and CEO of Magellan until his retirement in 2003, after which he returned to Madison County and London, which was his principal residence until his death.

Throughout his life, Kellough expressed his unwavering thankfulness for his family and friends and for the opportunities to travel that his career had afforded him, which included more than 40 U.S. States, and nearly 30 countries. Some years ago, while in retirement and living in Southern California, relatives there asked why he would want to “return to Ohio, with all that cold weather and snow in the winter.” And his response was simply, “I guess because Madison County and Central Ohio are, more than any other place in the world, home.”

Kellough is preceded in death by his only son, Addam David (12/09/2000). The senior Kellough spent much of his time in retirement, continuing to write, including a novel titled “Somewhere Warm – No Place Safe,” an autobiography titled “My Life,” (dedicated to his son, Addam, and to his daughters, and grandchildren); and a musical stage play titled “Great God Almighty!”

Visitation for family and friends will be held on Friday, June 12, 2026, from 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM in the EBERLE-FISHER FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY, 103 North Main Street, London, Ohio 43140. Memorial services for Mr. Kellough will begin at 12:30 PM with Pastor Rob Swartz officiating. Entombment will immediately follow in the Kellough Family Mausoleum, Washington Cemetery, in Washington Court House.
