HENSLEY

David Brian Hensley, 66, of London, died unexpectedly on Monday, May 20, 2024, at Doctors West Hospital, after a brief and sudden illness.

Born April 30, 1958, in London, he was a son of Dalton Hensley and Phyllis (Gill) Hensley.

David began his professional career working locally as a paramedic. He then enlisted in the United States Air Force where he went on to dedicate 24 years of continuous service, including multiple tours overseas. Concluding his military service with his final assignment at the Misawa Air Base, Japan, David retired from the Air Force in 2002 at the rank of Master Sergeant.

Following his time in the service, David enjoyed long rides on his Harley Davidson. He was also very musically inclined and loved playing his trombone, trumpet, saxophone, and was also learning to play guitar. Additionally, he was quite technologically savvy and appreciated working on broken computers and electronics in his spare time. No electronic puzzle was ever too complex for him to solve!

David leaves behind two daughters: Melissa (Barry) Carter and Michelle (Eric) Virgin; grandchildren Timothy Virgin, Matthew Virgin, Lexie Virgin, Abigail Virgin; sister Kathy (Rod) Morgan; niece and nephews Loredana Morgan, Coby Morgan, Andrew Morgan. He was preceded in death by his parents.

In honor of David's service to our country, he will be interred on June 3, 2024, at 1:00 PM in Dayton National Cemetery, 4400 W Third St, Dayton, OH 45428. Military honors will be accorded by the United States Air Force.
